Established in 1935, the Rockville Lodge No. 1540 of the Loyal Order of Moose is one of the oldest lodges in the area, serving the Montgomery County community for nearly a century as a fraternal and civic center. Conveniently located to Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Potomac, the lodge operates under the national umbrella of Moose International and was founded around the core principles of fraternalism, community benevolence, and social fellowship.

Historically, the Rockville Moose Lodge has dedicated a significant portion of its outreach to supporting the fraternity’s flagship charitable commitments: Mooseheart, a residential child-care facility in Illinois, and Moosehaven, a retirement community in Florida for senior members.

Based out of its facility at 13755 Travilah Road (constructed in 1970), Lodge 1540 functions as a local community hub, hosting youth activities—such as chartering local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops—alongside charity fundraisers, car shows, and member events while quietly contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to local and national philanthropic causes.
